Why is this night different from all
other nights?
On all other nights, we can eat
leavened or unleavened bread.
But on this night-only unleavened.
On all other nights, we can eat all
kinds of vegetables,
but on this night-we must eat
bitter herbs.
On all other nights, we don't dip
(greens into salt water) even once,
but on this night-we do so twice.
On all other nights, we can eat
sitting up or reclining,
but on this night, we only recline.
