Pre-School Day Camp
Congregation Beth Elohim’s Pre-School day Camp is a recreational program designed to provide children with opportunities to play, explore and experiment with varied materials in a nurturing and supportive environment. Our program is carefully constructed to meet the needs of children 2.5-6 years. We provide a wide variety of activities under the guidance of caring professional educators. Beth Elohim’s Pre-School day Camp facilities include a large air-conditioned gym and a spacious indoor pool. Prospect Park will be utilized for outdoor play.
Elementary Division Day Camp
The Elementary Division of Congregation Beth Elohim’s Summer Day Camp offers children lots of fun, excitement and a wide variety of recreational activities in a safe, supervised environment under the care of a highly qualified staff. Our program is designed to meet the needs of children entering 1st through 4th grades.
Some of our facilities include a spacious indoor pool, an art room, computer room, darkroom and two large, multi-use air-conditioned spaces. Nearby Prospect Park is utilized for sports, nature and outdoor play. The oldest groups explore marine life and environmental issues by sailing on the Hudson River Sloop, Clearwater, and an overnight camping program. Activities include:
- Daily recreational and instructional swim for each group supervised by a Red Cross Certified Water Safety Instructor and an assistant with Advanced Life Saving
- Active outdoor sports program
- Gymnastics
- Nature
- Arts & Crafts
- Music
- Hobbies: nature, photography, cooking, dance, sports clinic, drama, puppet-making, newspaper, computers, and much, much more
- Workshops in karate, video, creative dance and photography
- Trips: twice a week, in and out of NYC
- Special Programming: mid-session Olympics (full day of sports and field events), End of Summer Music Festival and Carnival
- On-site sleepover for campers entering 3rd grade
- Overnight camping trip for oldest group
Travel Camp
Movin’ On, Congregation Beth Elohim’s Travel Camp, offers youth 10-13 years of age an exciting full summer program. It is designed to meet the camper’s developmental needs, allowing for independence within a supervised environment. Campers are grouped by grade.
Using Congregation Beth Elohim as a base, campers travel daily to various points of interest in and around New York City. On Tuesday and Thursday afternoons, the Temple facilities including an art room, computer room, full size gymnasium, and spacious indoor swimming pool will be available. Prospect Park will be used for sports. The staff consists of a program director and mature, experienced counselors. Two overnight trips are planned during the summer.
