Shabbat B'Yachad (Shabbat Together) | Print |  E-mail

Grades K-6 and families have the option of participating in Shabbat B’Yachad, a program of prayer, learning, and family education on Saturday mornings.  Shabbat B’Yachad consists of community time with the clergy, one hour of family Shabbat services, and either parallel learning for parents and children or family education programming.  Parents of children in Shabbat B’Yachad are expected to participate in family education programs about once per month, where parents and children learn together.  On weeks which do not have family education programs, Shabbat B’Yachad consists of classes for children with optional parallel learning for parents.  The children’s classes include a “Chug Torah” period where students learn Jewish studies by grade level in topic specific mini-units, and a “Chug Shabbat” period which will focus on the core curriculum through interactive programming utilizing the arts, music, movement, and hands-on projects.  Shabbat B’Yachad programming is from 9:15 AM -12:15 PM on Saturday mornings, and includes community time and family services from 9:15 AM-10:25 PM.  All families, even those not registered for Shabbat B’Yachad, are welcome to participate in community time and family services.  Babysitting will be offered for children ages 2.2 to 5 from 10:15 AM-12:15 AM for a fee (subject to minimum enrollment).
