Lost Tribes, Found Commonalities, and Otherness: The Encounter between Native Americans and American Jews With David Koffman
Discover the rich cross-cultural interchange between Native Americans and Jews in the fields of cultural production, crafts and heritage, museum collection, Wild West shows, the Red Power movement, and social advocacy. Koffman's work addresses the debate brewing since World War II about the politics and public memory of "comparative genocide," and explores historical and contemporary attempts to put Native American and Jewish ritual perspectives and theologies into dialogue. In a discussion with historian Rabbi Daniel Bronstein, Koffman will give us a glimpse of these rich exchanges. |
