"To Know God" Wayne Mones
What can we know about God? This was the question that occupied Rabbi Shalom DovBer Schneersohn throughout his life. Affectionately known as the Rebbe RASHAB, he led the Chabad Lubavitch Chasidic movement from 1882 until 1920. A ferocious intellect, the Rebbe had an encyclopedic knowledge of Talmud and was a great mystic. Like his predecessors (and successors), he taught by delivering Ma'amarim (discourses) to his most advanced students. Our course will examine text from the discourse "VeYada'ata" ("To Know God"), in which the Rebbe postulated that there is no difference between the highest spiritual realms and the lowest physical world.
