In this course we will explore the "classic Jewish
texts" that represent the move from a Biblical, Priest-centered Jewish
tradition to one that is rooted in Torah, Worship, and Acts of
Lovingkindness. Each week will address a new school of thought and
interpretation from the first century of the Common Era to the Late
Middle Ages. Our final theme will be the "December Dilemma": how can
Jewish families and interfaith families alike cope with the challenges
of the American Christmas season? Instructor: Rabbi Andy Bachman.
