The Social Action Committee welcomes Adeeb Yousif, the Darfur regional director of a human rights organization in Sudan, for a public conversation with the CBE community
about the crisis in Western Sudan – why it continues and what must be done.
As the director of the Zalingi office of the Sudan Social Development Organization (SUDO), Adeeb has been active in defending the rights of all vulnerable people in Darfur. As a result of his peaceful rights work, Adeeb was detained without charge and held in isolation for 10 months by the Sudanese authorities. Adeeb is currently in the
United States for a three-month fellowship. CBE Member Jill Savitt, who oversees a Darfur program at Human Rights First, will interview Adeeb about Darfur at CBE and facilitate a Q and A session with members and students.
