Join the Social Action Committee for a screening of Sam Sills' 1984 film THE GOOD FIGHT: The Abraham Lincoln Brigade in the Spanish Civil War.
In one of history's most
dramatic displays of international solidarity, 40,000 volunteers from around
the world fought the armies of Franco, Hitler and Mussolini in the Spanish
Civil War. THE GOOD FIGHT tells the inspiring and poignant story of the 2,800 Americans who went to Spain to fight fascism, five years before the United States entered World War II. THE GOOD FIGHT is a feature-length documentary film narrated by Studs Terkel and featuring eleven Lincoln Brigade veterans, as well as Colleen Dewhurst and John Houseman. This
event is a part of Social Action Committee's Filmmakers on
Film series, created to explore the work of local documentary
filmmakers and issues of social justice and activism |
