| Congregation Beth Elohim proudly hosts the fifth annual Brownstone Brooklyn Jewish Choral Festival in the Sanctuary. In honor of Israel Independence Day, the CBE Singers and Junior Choir will join forces with the musical talents of other Brownstone Brooklyn synagogues, members of the borough-wide Brooklyn Jewish Community Chorus, and a quartet from the Brooklyn Philharmonic in a program of choral and instrumental music by outstanding Israeli composers.
A wide variety of Israeli music will be featured, from icons Paul Ben-Haim, Yehezkel Braun (from his Song of Songs), and Moshe Wilensky, to arrangements of Israeli popular songs spanning many decades.
Participating synagogues include Brooklyn Heights Synagogue, Congregation Beth Elohim, East Midwood Jewish Center, Kane Street Synagogue, Kolot Chayeinu/Voices of Our Lives, Park Slope Jewish Center, Congregation Mount Sinai, and Union Temple of Brooklyn.
Admission is $5. For more information, please contact Cantor Janet Leuchter, 718-768-3814 ext. 218.
