Ruth Gruber is a journalist who has photographed cities being built in the Siberian Gulag; soldiers, mostly black, building the Alaska highway; accompanied 1,000 Jewish refugees from Europe to safe haven in America and covered the voyage of the Exodus 1947 a vessel laden with 4,500 Jewish refugees trying to reach pre-state Israel. Ruth Gruber is 95 years old and has written 19 books. She visits Beth Elohim tonight to discuss her latest, Witness.
