Harry Allen (Chris Cooper) is a suburban businessman intent on leaving
his adoring wife Pat (Patricia Clarkson) for his bleach-blonde mistress Kay
(Rachel McAdams). But rather than put Pat through the humiliation of a divorce,
he thinks it more humane to poison her.
Harry’s friend Richard (Pierce Brosnan)
narrates this 1940s-set black comedy/character study, adapted from John Bingham’s
1953 novel “Five Roundabouts to Heaven” by co-writer/director Ira Sachs, who
